Interested in Vs. Bored with

Untuk menyatakan "suka" atau "tertarik" kita dapat menggunakan "interested" (ˈɪntrəstɪd) dengan preposisi "in".

I'm interested in both the book and the girl who is reading it.

Untuk menyatakan kebalikannya (i.e. bosan) anda dapat memakai kata "bored" (bɔːrd) dengan preposisi "with" (bukan in!) :

I'm bored with the same old TV show every night. Give me something new!

Kita dapat menggunakan bentuk dasar "interest" tanpa "in" dan bentuk dasar "bore" tanpa "with" jika hal yang kita suka atau tidak sukai tersebut menjadi subjek:

This book might interest you if you are into existentialist philosophy. However, it will bore you to death if you don't understand philosophy. (Catatan: "bore someone to death" adalah idiom yang berarti sangat-sangat bosan)

Most of the students are interested in the new K-pop video. The melody is infectious and the dance is so cool! (Catatan: "the melody is so infectious" = istilah untuk irama yang menyenangkan dan membuat ingin bernyanyi)

Most of the students are bored with the new K-pop video. The music is repetitive and the dance is lame. (Catatan: "Lame" = payah, tidak menarik)

Cheers for my students in these photos ;). Thanks guys!
